This report assessed the impact of an ‘attic’ 1st floor proposed to be inserted into the residence, located adjacent to both state and locally significant heritage items, and located in the Berrima Conservation Area.

This lot was sold to early Jewish resident of Berrima, Nahum Simon, for £9/8/7 on 20 July 1835. Simon arrived in the colony in January 1833 on the Palambam, recorded as Norman Simon, a rabbi. Jewish scholar John Levi suggests Nahum came as a tutor and schochet for the children of Abraham Moses. Simon was previously licensee of The British Standard in George Street, Sydney, and held many other interests across the colony.
