Rose is the sister of Pat Wright, also interviewed for the project and one of seven children. In Rose’s family her father was the head of the house and my mother used to wait on him hand and foot. He would be sitting there, and he would call her to put coal on the fire and when my father was due home, my mother had to make sure we were spick and span. Her father took the children to The Domain on Sunday afternoons. Mrs Green and ‘The Tiger’ were two well-known characters there. She was interviewed in February 1995 by Sue Rosen as part of the South Sydney Social History Project.
