It is with great sadness and frustration that we noted on our recent trip to Rydal that the destruction of the convict built road from Cox's River to Rydal contiunues. Lithgow Council has neglected to maintain the road or to protect it from the ravages of four wheel drive and dirt bike enthusiasts. This road was built c. 1832 by convicts working in irons and was largely intact until a few years ago. It could be part of a heritage trail telling the history of the area, enriching the local culture. [Dec 2017]
